Meet the Full-Time Staff:

Kevin Mayne
- Executive Director
Kevin, LLYC’s fearless leader, also known as our Executive Director, has a heart that matches his height. (He is really, really tall.) His gracious spirit is evident in everything he does and says. He has a passion for people, but more specifically, for people to know Jesus. His desire is for the Gospel message to be shared with the campers in such a way that it not only affects them, but their homes, communities, and eventually the world! Summer 2008 will celebrate the Maynes’ 11th anniversary with LLYC. Kevin, his wife, Judi, and their two kiddos, Kaitlin and Mikey, live in Kerrville during the school year and move out to camp during the summer. The Maynes live between Singing Hills and Echo Valley during the summer, so that Kevin can keep an eye on and administer the craziness at both camps! Judi is an Associate Pastor at First United Methodist Church in Kerrville during the school year and spends the summer months supporting the ministry of LLYC. Kaitlin, 17, goes to Tivy High School (Tivy Fight Never Dies!) and is always in style. Mikey, 12, loves people, campouts, airsoft guns, and his rattail. Yes, that’s right he has a really long rattail, which equals . . . really awesome. The Maynes have added to their family this year . . . Melanie (16) is visiting all the way from Paris, France. She’s super great, super fun, and has a really super-sweet accent. As for Kevin, we like to think his claims to fame before LLYC were starring in the high school band with his trombone skills and studying rocks in college. If you have ever met the Mayne family . . . consider yourself blessed. They love Jesus, people, and the ministry of LLYC!!!

Chandler Pruitt
- Director
“Weird Al?” No, it’s Chandler, although he bears a close resemblance and is just as talented. The name Chandler brings a smile to MANY people’s faces. Many? You might ask. Many, because the summer of 2008 will mark his 22nd summer with LLYC. He may sound old . . . well he is, but he can dominate any of us running around the track. Chandler is a graduate of Angelo State University and Texas Tech University. (Get your Guns up!) He was known for building structures in the architectural field before he was known for building up little followers of Jesus in the camping field. God has changed many lives through the Pruitt family. Margo, his sweet wife, loves to love people and nurse them back to health. She is an RN at the Peterson Regional Ambulatory Care Center in Kerrville. This summer, she will be the Health Services Coordinator working closely with the LLYC Nurses. They have three precious munchkins: Marshall, Maggie, and Mollie. Marshall (15) enjoys eating cookie dough, is a rock ‘n’ roll star with his drumming skills, and in his spare time attends high school. Maggie (12) loves to run and play the piano, wants to be a fashion designer, and never forgets a thing. Mollie (11) loves basketball and isn’t normally hungry for dinner but is always hungry for dessert :). The two ladies raise goats and are very gifted in choreographed dances. Chandler will be Director of Singing Hills this summer. After spending time with this precious family, you will no doubt see their love and passion for children to know the love of Jesus Christ.

Trey Tull, Associate  Director
This summer will be Trey’s 3rd summer at LLYC as Director over Echo Valley. The Tulls’ relationship with LLYC started in 1995 when Leah (Russell), his cute wife, was a counselor and girls director at Echo Valley for two summers. Trey graduated from A&M (Whoop!) with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and received a Master of Arts in Leadership at Denver Seminary. He is also a graduate of National Outdoor Leadership School . . . Trey has served many summers at Young Life’s Wilderness Ranch, guiding high schoolers into the wilderness for weeks at a time. He best describes his life as being a combination of “near-death experiences and most-embarrassing moments.” Needless to say . . . we LOVE his really great
stories! Trey and Leah have two precious little muffins, Elli (5) and Claire (almost 2). Elli is a little lady. There are three things that Elli loves . . . camp, the color pink, and working in the garage with her daddy. Claire might quite possibly be the most popular person at camp . . . she never has to walk anywhere. ;) Trey and Leah are humble servants and empowering leaders. They desire to build community, and have a deep, genuine love for people. LLYC is blessed to have the Tulls.

Emily Pearson
- Registrar
Emily Pearson, our registrar, LOVES our LLYC parents and campers. She orchestrates the registration process, gets to bless campers with the news of scholarships, and fills camp with as many campers as possible. She finds great joy in parent contact and building those relationships throughout the year. This will mark Emily’s 7th summer with LLYC. Emily and her hairy child, Conan (her German Shepherd who weighs about 1,000 lbs. and is HUGE,) live in Kerrville. Oh wait . . . Emily has lived in Kerrville her entire life. She graduated from Tivy High School and Schreiner College with a B.A. in Psychology. Emily enjoys spending time with her super nephew, David Tyler (10), and sassy niece, Lulu (almost 2) . . . and likes to think that they both take after their Auntie Em. ;) We refer to her often as “small child”. . . she has the energy and passion that remind us of one and most often lives in the moment. She loves our campers and their parents well and has deep desire to serve them. Her joy and love for life are contagious.

Katie Schrank
- Associate Director
Katie Schrank (it sounds like honk) can be heard way before she is ever seen (insert LOUD laugh here . . . HAAAAHHHH!!!) Katie was born and raised in Midland, Texas, moved to San Marcos to graduate from Texas State (eat ‘em up, Cats!) with a degree in Theatre. Katie has happily made her home in the Hill Country, and has been a part of the full-time staff for the past 41/2 years. This summer will mark the 7th anniversary for Katie and LLYC. She has served as counselor, work crew boss, and a director at both Echo Valley and Singing Hills. This summer, she will once again serve as a director, alongside Trey, at Echo Valley. Katie is passionate about Jesus and people. She believes in the ministry of LLYC and loves being a part of it. Katie is really pumped about the summer ahead! She is confident that this summer will bring about many sweet memories, cherished relationships, and hearts transformed! A prayer of Katie’s for this summer, is that LLYC would be a place where the uncelebrated are celebrated! Just a few things that bring her delight: laughing loud, significant conversations, sunsets, funnel cakes, mullets, fireflies, big sunglasses, eating queso, being in the sun, playing outside (running, hiking, biking, swimming), live music, intimate friendships, and getting to watch Jesus change lives!

Diane Henry - Secretary
Sweet Diane Henry joined the LLYC team almost 3 years ago, and what a blessing she has been! She grew up in Ingram, Texas, and was the Ingram High School Homecoming Queen and Prom Queen of 1998. Congrats! (‘98 was a big year.) She has been known to wear her crowns around the office from time to time. She attended UTSA and studied Interior Design, which she uses a lot as secretary in the LLYC office. :) Her pride and joy is her precious little four-year-old tooter, Taylor. Taylor = pink, sassy, and big blue eyes. She loves to play hard and always keeps her mommy busy! Diane works really hard. Such a servant to our office, always willing to do whatever, she keeps us organized and filled with coffee in our bodies (just for the record, she makes it really strong. Yum!) She is Kevin’s right-hand woman . . . we are SO grateful for her. When you call our office, she is the cheerful voice on the other end! Good afternoon, Diane, we love you!

Matt Denton - Assistant Guys Director

Matt graduated in 2007 with a B.A. in Communication Studies from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas . . . Go Pirates!!! His minors included Philosophy, Kinesiology, and Theater . . . could you squeeze any more minors in there??? This is Matt’s 5th summer with LLYC and he is serving as Assistant Guys Director at Echo Valley. Last year he was a programmer at Echo where his primary role was to create fun and entertainment for the campers! Previously, Matt has served as a counselor, Assistant Guys Director, and Roundup Coordinator. Matt has a wide variety of leadership skills, including his knowledge of lifeguarding, ropes, theater, audio visual production, and film and photography . . . oh! and he is LLYC’s very own Parkour aficionado . . . he really loves to jump off walls and through monkey bars. Matt is a true servant and loves to love people.

John HillJohn Hill - Spiritual Director

John Hill is accompanied by his wife, Holly Baker Hill, and their two children, Haddie, age seven, and Emory, age four. During the year John is the Executive Director for Laity Lodge Family Camp . . . where parents and families can experience camp together! The Foundation ministries as well as the landscape of the Frio Canyon have provided profound and virtually lifelong influences upon John. “I started attending LLYC when I was seven,” John said, “and returned every summer through college, either as a camper, volunteer, or counselor. The Canyon is where I accepted the Lord into my life and where I met my wife. When I was 16 and part of work crew, I met Holly who was also serving on work crew. Some years later, while we were overlooking Echo Valley from Antenna, I asked Holly to marry me. Our relationship and our family is rooted in this place and in the Foundation ministries.” John has a BBA from Southwestern University and an MDIV from Virginia Theological Seminary. John has served as Director of Program for Sky Ranch and Executive Director of Camps and Conferences for the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas. John and his family returned last summer from Melbourne, Australia, where John was Vicar of St. Paul’s Anglican Church. WOW! He’s really spiritual!!! :) He’s excited to be back in the Canyon and loving on our staff and campers.

Jordan Stubbs - Assistant Girls Director

Whoop! Jordan comes to us from A & M in College Station where she graduated with a B.A. in Communications and a minor in Business Administration. Following her 2006 graduation, Jordan spent a year in Houston attending South Texas College of Law; however, she left that career path believing the Lord was leading her on a different journey! The past nine months she has been interning in the Kerrville home office and modeling her incredibly fabulous shoe collection . . . (we don’t get to wear Chacos and flip flops all year long). This summer, she will work alongside Chandler as Assistant Girls Director at Singing Hills. Jordan has also served as Assistant Girls Director at Echo Valley and as a counselor during the summer of 2006. Jordan has a passion to serve people. She really loves just hanging out and being silly with the folks she loves . . . and she pretty much loves EVERYBODY!
