CliffsThe 1954 purchase of the camp property at the headwaters of the Frio River fulfilled one of the Butt family dreams of providing camping opportunities for those who could not otherwise afford such an outdoor experience.

Foundation Camps

The H. E. Butt Foundation has progressively developed five self-contained, well-equipped camping facilities on the ranch property along three miles of ruggedly beautiful Frio River Canyon. These facilities are offered to qualified nonprofit groups dedicated to serving human needs.

Laity Lodge Youth Camp

Laity Lodge CampersProviding campers the best two weeks of their lives has been the motto at LLYC since its inception in 1966. Our Christian coed camping program offers a wide variety of adventurous activities and exceptional programming for campers in 1st through 10th grade. Our program is driven by creativity and spontaneity so that no two days are alike. The primary goal of the youth camp is the building of relationships with peers, counselors, and Christ in a nonthreatening, caring manner while showing them the time of their lives!

For information, please call 830-792-1222 or fill out our online Request Form.

Laity Lodge
Laity LodgeLaity Lodge is dedicated to our common quest—often unrecognized—to know Christ, and what that means in the ordinary secular relationships of our lives. It is a place where, in a safe, quiet environment, the laity (from the Greek laos, "the people of God") can explore choices leading to growth—in creativity, effectiveness, and servant leadership. It seeks to implement the values of excellence, service, and unity. Spiritual vitality, educational innovation, and organizational excitement have characterized Laity Lodge since its 1961 inception.

Wayfarer's Cottage
“Oh, that I had in the wilderness a
lodging place of wayfaring men . . . ”
Jeremiah 9:2
The Quiet House

Also known as "The Quiet House," the Wayfarer's Cottage is a place for a contemplative retreat for an individual or married couple. It is an exquisitely designed stone cottage on a hilltop on the H. E. Butt Foundation property. Many have come to this quiet place for solitude and prayer. The Wayfarer's Cottage provides the gift of silence and allows the retreatant to "be still and know that I am God."

For information, please call 830-792-1210 or fill out our online Contact Form.
